Motivation in the Workplace

Is work ever really enjoyable?  The answer, of course, is yes! It can be enjoyable and productive if employees are motivated.  This workshop will discuss the benefits of personal motivation, stressing individual personalities, styles and reward structures.  Participants will learn techniques to motivate others and link motivation and appreciation, using realistic strategies.

 

Dealing with Difficult People

This program offers the insight needed to understand the difficult people in our lives.  It includes an introduction to the behavioral dynamics and essential communication strategies designed to diffuse difficult encounters and move beyond conflict to problem resolution.

 

Managing Conflicts

This workshop introduces five conflict management strategies and discusses the uses of each. Typical conflict responses are analyzed to help participants recognize ways to manage conflict in a positive and tolerant manner.  Strategies designed to defuse upsetting situations and improve communication will be discussed and practiced.  Examples of conflict situations will be examined and strategies for approaching resolution will be discussed.

 

Behavior-based Interviewing

Participants will learn the concept of behavioral interviewing, how to plan, conduct and evaluate an interview, the legal limits to questioning, and how to develop effective interview questions.

When life is busy, it’s easy to find yourself off balance, overwhelmed and not paying enough attention to important areas of your life. While you need to juggle many responsibilities if you’re going to get things done, taking this too far can lead to frustration, stress and unhappiness. By taking a long look at the possible imbalance in our lives, embracing a more realistic approach to our personal and professional roles, and then applying strategies for more balance, we can alleviate the stress and conflict among our many roles, interests and pursuits.

Participants will explore beliefs and perspectives of the meaning of a balance life, map a true picture of their current life and their ideal balanced life, and come out of the class with applicable, practical strategies to create greater balance in their lives
